Oct. 31, 2018 -- Lauren Gawlak, a junior studying criminal justice at Wichita State, spent the summer gaining firsthand experience as an intern with the Lenexa Police Department.

Oct. 26, 2018 -- As part of a summer class, senior fine arts major Xuan Ha got the opportunity to work on the Jump!Star sculpture, working to fabricate a large, illuminated paper sculpture.

Oct. 16, 2018 -- Wichita State professor David McDonald and graduate assistant Alisha Prince are trying to change the world, one mouth at a time. The team is teaming up with Ocean Spray to research synergistic properties contained in cranberries and other natural extracts that will, in theory, stop the decay of teeth and provide an alternative to traditional oral health care.

Sept. 28, 2018 -- Cynthia Matson's time at Wichita State has shaped the student she is today. The business major is vice president of the Barton International Group, a student run consulting firm through the Barton School of Business at WSU.

Sept. 27, 2018 -- After months of anticipation, Fuzzy's Taco Shop confirmed plans to open a restaurant in Braeburn Square, the new retail complex at Wichita State University. Next summer Fuzzy's will join Starbucks and the Shocker Store in the development near 21st and Oliver.

Sept. 19, 2018 -- Carli McCloud, a sophomore majoring in exercise science, was told she would never be able to cheer again after being diagnosed with a degenerative bone disorder. She's currently a member of the WSU Spirit Squad.

Wichita State's Professional Edge Program gives students the tools to lead and participate in meetings, choose a mentor and identify their work-skill.

Aug. 24, 2018 -- Butler Community College business administration students who graduate with an associate degree are now able to seamlessly transfer into Wichita State University's W. Frank Barton School of Business.

Aug. 9, 2018 - Wichita State University set a new record for total research and development awards in fiscal year 2018 with a total of $104.5 million, increasing awards by more than $14 million and achieving gains in most funded departments.

July 19, 2018 -- It's the start of a new tradition: Starting this fall, Wichita State will have a marching band. The new band will include brass, saxophone and a drum line.

Graduating senior Jacob Griffith won a prestigious National Science Foundation fellowship to support his upcoming graduate studies.

June 26, 2018 -- Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and Panda Express are coming to the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State this fall.
